EDUCATION CENTERS FOR SPACE APPLICATIONS AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING IN AFRCA :
The success and the sustainability of space-based interventions in disaster management and emergency response in Africa depend not only on the availability of the technology and infrastructure, but on relevant knowledge of how the technology can be applied in a fast and efficient manner during a disaster. Consequently, capacity development in the deployment, manipulation and application of space technology in a disaster setting is imperative.
